A product page starts long before the storefront.
Lighting products arrive with specifications, variants, case quantities and supplier pricing that do not always follow the same structure. A useful shop has to turn that material into information a buyer can compare and an order the business can fulfil.
TIN is building Canada Lighting Supplies across both sides of that problem: a custom shopping experience and the catalogue tools behind it. Shopify provides the commerce foundation, connected to supplier data, content and the application’s product rules.
The experiences inside the platform.
Customer storefront
Discover products, configure a fixture and order.
Trade account
Request project quotes and review account enquiries.
Catalogue administration
Review supplier data, pricing and order operations.
Supplier information is normalised and reviewed before it feeds the shopping and sales workflows.
Inside the platform.
Make inconsistent product data usable.
Supplier feeds, spreadsheets, documents and connected catalogues enter a collection and review workflow. Product specifications, categories, pricing and images need a consistent structure before they can support discovery or purchasing.
The administration tools connect that preparation to catalogue publishing. Stable image handling and synchronisation help keep the storefront tied to the reviewed product record.
Help buyers select the right configuration.
The storefront supports browsing by category, room and specification. Configurable product families need rules for compatible selections, while case quantities and discounts need to carry through to the price a customer sees.
Trade customers also need an alternative to an ordinary basket. Account applications, approval levels and project quote requests give the team a way to handle a larger specification or a purchase that needs discussion.
Connect the order to fulfilment.
Shipping can involve parcel rates, freight tables or a manual review for oversized items. The application needs to make that distinction before promising a shipping price.
The order workflow connects payment, the commerce record and procurement steps. Quote requests are stored for the team and made visible to the relevant customer, keeping the enquiry attached to its account.
Price once. Apply the rules consistently.
A shared pricing resolver keeps the storefront and catalogue synchronisation aligned. Server-side checks apply quantity, discount and shipping rules so those decisions do not depend solely on what the browser submits.
Verified integration events, safe handling of repeated notifications and scheduled maintenance support the connection between catalogue, payment and order state. TIN’s work covers those operating details as well as the interface customers see.
Being finished for launch.
In developmentCanada Lighting Supplies is in development. The build brings catalogue preparation, merchandising, trade enquiries and commerce into a connected application, with the remaining work focused on completing the release.
The intended result is a buying experience supported by the same product, pricing and fulfilment information the team uses behind the scenes.
